And it's 2023!
Happy and healthy New Year to all. I am sitting here, my stomach is rumbling, Scott heard it. The fortunate thing is that we have food in the fridge. For so many, that does not exist. No food when the stomach rumbles. How good it is to be part of an organisation - the Banyan - that is part of the solution.
We are well, got to talk to our children, which I find fortunate and fun. Naren has written a play which may be staged soon. Nat continues diligently working. Their sig others also appear to be well; I am glad they have sig others.
Scott and I are aging. One day in December, we were sitting on our balcony and resurrected plans of going to New Zealand and Australia. So we upped and went. NZ was beautiful and each day had new beauty. We saw our nephew, his wife and their brand new baby, Ava, in Darwin, Australia, and then proceeded to Melbourne for the Australian Open tennis tournament. That was a fine time. Watching live sports is unfailingly joyous, unless the contest is 1-sided.
I have a new passion to educate. Having handled 2 travel emergencies - 1 on a train and 1 on a plane - I find that a little education might help the makkal (people) before they reach for yet another bag of potato chips. Perhaps they would reach for a banana instead. I sorely missed tasty, fresh bananas when travelling; I had nectarines and a plum with me, but a banana would have been a nice addition.
There were no medical emergencies on the flights, thanks, God. There was a medical emergency at the Australian Open, and it was quickly and efficiently handled. We watched that part on TV.
I spoke to my Dad on our return and that was nice. We hope to go to Madurai next week.
